Curriculum Overview
Brewton-Parker College

The 36-credit hour Master of Arts in Biblical Proclamation provides students with a biblical and theological framework that adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and equips students for effective preaching or teaching within the Church.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Old Testament and New Testament books and content, the historical framework of the biblical period, important theological emphases, as well as an understanding of scholarly critical issues from a conservative biblical perspective.
  • Exhibit competency in the skills of hermeneutics and homiletics.
  • Display an understanding of the function of biblical preaching in the context of church health and growth.

Admission Requirements:

  • Completion of Brewton-Parker application process which includes: Autobiographical testimony of salvation and reason for pursuing MABP, Affirmation of an approved doctrinal statement, Affirmation of BPC Christian Conduct Code (as found in Student Handbook.)
  • Completion of an accredited or recognized bachelor’s degree; or completion of an accredited or recognized master’s degree.
  • Grade point average of 2.0.

Graduation Requirements:

  • Complete all education requirements as required by the Brewton-Parker catalog.
  • Completion of program with a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
  • Completion of each required core course with a minimum grade of C range or higher.
  • Minimum of 33% of the program must be completed at BPC.
  • Program time limit is four years.
